2008/09 NGCA MEMBER CONVENTION SLATED FOR LAS VEGAS THIS DECEMBER
The National Golf Coaches Association is once again headed to Las Vegas, Nevada and Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel for its 2008/09 NGCA Member Convention scheduled for December 9 - 11, 2008. The NGCA Member Convention was last held in Las Vegas in 2000. Due to demand from its membership and sponsors, the NGCA Member Convention will be moving off of their customary time slot in mid to late January. “We have received tremendous feedback and support from our coaches and the early December time period will work much better given their team commitments when student-athletes return to campus in January,” stated Roger Yaffe, NGCA Executive Director. “As well, Las Vegas is always a high demand location for the Convention so we anticipate a record attendance.” Full Release.
BEST BUY CHARITY CLASSIC TO HONOR WOMEN’S COLLEGIATE GOLF ALL-AMERICANS
The 2007-08 Duramed FUTURES Tour National Golf Coaches Association All-American Team will be honored June 26 – 28 at this summer’s Best Buy Charity Classic in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Over the past decade, this event, supporting the Best Buy Children’s Foundation, has encompassed a celebration of women’s professional golf which has proven to be mutually beneficial for both Best Buy and the LPGA professionals alike. In recognition of the 2008 U.S. Women’s Open to be held at Interlachen Country Club in Minneapolis, M.N. June 26-29, Best Buy has elected to alter the traditional format to honor the All-American selections of women’s collegiate golf. Full Release.
What is the National Golf Coaches Association?
The National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) is the professional association of women's collegiate golf coaches comprised of over 400 members at Division I, II, III & NAIA institutions. The vision of NGCA since its inception has been to encourage the playing of intercollegiate golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. The NGCA instills within coaches of women’s golf a deeper sense of responsibility for the promotion, development, maintenance and conduct of competitive golf for women. |
