2008-09 YEAR END NGCA AWARDS ANNOUNCED
The National Golf Coaches Association has announced its Division I, II and III year-end student-athlete and coaches awards at the recent NGCA Awards Banquets held in Baltimore, MD (DI), Findlay, OH (DII) and Port St. Lucie, FL (DIII). Division I. Division II. Division III.
2009 NGCA MEMBER CONVENTION TO RETURN TO LAS VEGAS THIS DECEMBER
The National Golf Coaches Association is once again headed to Las Vegas, Nevada for its 2009 NGCA Member Convention scheduled for December 7 - 9. The Convention will be held at Bally’s Las Vegas with sleeping rooms available at Bally’s and the adjoining Paris Las Vegas. The NGCA recently held its December 2008 Convention in Las Vegas and despite the general economic downturn, enjoyed a record attendance that exceeded by 25% any other Convention in its 26 year history. “Las Vegas has been hit very hard by the deepening recession,” stated Roger M. Yaffe, NGCA Executive Director. “This allows the NGCA and is members to gain access to unimaginable rates and reduced expenses – something all coaches and their athletic departments are watching carefully in times like these.” Full release.
DENISE ST. PIERRE TO BE HONORED WITH 2009 GLADYS PALMER MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD
Denise St. Pierre, current Women’s Golf Coach at Penn State University, has been named as the 2009 Gladys Palmer Meritorious Service Award Recipient, the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) most prestigious honor. St. Pierre will be formally recognized at the NGCA Hall of Fame Banquet which will take place on Wednesday evening, December 10, 2008. The ceremony will take place at the Harrah’s Las Vegas Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Full release.

NATIONAL GOLF COACHES ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES 2009 COACHES AND PLAYERS HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES
Karen Bahnsen, current Women’s Golf Coach at Louisiana State University (Coach), Shauna Estes, former great at the University of Georgia (Player), and Wendy Ward, one of the most storied players in women’s collegiate golf history at Arizona State University (Player) will be inducted into the NGCA Hall of Fame on Wednesday evening, December 10, 2008. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place at the Harrah’s Las Vegas Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bahnsen becomes the 42nd member of the Coaches Hall of Fame and Estes and Ward become the 52nd and 53rd members of the Players Hall of Fame. Full release.

What is the National Golf Coaches Association?
The National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) is the professional association of women's collegiate golf coaches comprised of over 400 members at Division I, II, III & NAIA institutions. The vision of NGCA since its inception has been to encourage the playing of intercollegiate golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition.
